Our Flag - Past, Present, Future

The US flag today has thirteen stripes which are red and white, symbolizing the 13 colonies. It has, in the upper left hand corner, fifty stars with a deep blue backround. Through our history just remember that whenever a new state was created, a star had to be added to the original thirteen. Here is what our flag looked like when the Revolution ended. The thirteen stars represented the original thirteen colonies. There were two versions of the original flag.

Throughout history, more and more stars were crowded into the blue square. In the future if we aqquire more states, the number inside will grow. Let's say Puerto Rico becomes the 51st state. Many people already prepared for the fifty one state flag. Here is what it looks like.

What will the US flag look like with more stars?

Geographical Hiccups - A Hopeful Start

Recently I created this hopefully successful blog that will get the ball rolling. An interesting subject, Geography is one of my favorites. In this blog I will post geographic puzzles, news, and interesting facts about the geogrpahy of our country, the United States of America. Our country's states are laden with battle scars and surprising stories behind their borders. For example - the city of Kaskaskia used to be in Illinois but mother nature moved it to Missouri, knocking off Illinois's original capitol. Want to know more? Soon I will post fun puzzles, interesting facts, and geographic anomoalies that even exist to this day.
